The Duchess of Sussex will not join Prince Harry at King's Charles Coronation

Meghan Markle has taken one step back and - crucially - two steps forward in her bid to dominate the build-up to King Charles's Coronation.

The Duchess of Sussex looked to have decided to remove herself from the spotlight earlier this month when it was announced she would not be attending the historic ceremony with Prince Harry.

Meghan's move to miss out on an event of global significance came as a surprise to many.

Instead, she will spend May 6 celebrating the fourth birthday of her son Prince Archie in California.

However, since announcing her forthcoming absence Meghan has made two pivotal moves.

Firstly on Saturday evening, the Duchess of Sussex issued a scathing statement responding to claims that she was not going to King Charles's Coronation due to receiving an unsatisfactory response to concerns she raised about "unconscious bias" in the monarchy.

The Duchess of Sussex blasted the reports as "frankly ridiculous and false".

A spokesperson for Meghan Markle told GB News: "The Duchess of Sussex is going about her life in the present, not thinking about correspondence from two years ago related to conversations from four years ago."

The Telegraph reported that Meghan expressed her concerns about unconscious bias within the Royal Family in a letter to Charles following her interview with Oprah Winfrey.

A source told the newspaper that Meghan still felt she had not received a satisfactory response to the concerns she raised.

This story dominated the headlines over the weekend as the Duchess of Sussex's 2021 bombshell interview, which harmed the Royal Family's reputation, was under discussion again.

The second poignant step Meghan has taken is unveiling her 'new look' at two public events.

The first glimpse of the former Suits actress this week was at a TedTalk where she introduced her close friend Misan Harriman in a pre-recorded clip.

Later that day, Harry and Meghan were pictured during a public date night at an NBA game in California.

The interactions between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex at the basketball game, including when Meghan seemed to snub a kiss from her husband have been extensively analysed by royal commentators and body language experts.

As a result, Meghan has been the most talked about royal across the penultimate week before King Charles's crowning moment despite the fact she will not be there to see it.
